Ok, my wife is up and rolling with her blog page, she just has a few minor things to get worked out.
Continuing on with my guitar blog. I guess I should give you all an idea of what type of music interests me. My "guitar hero" is Eric Clapton. I grew up listening to heavy metal in the late 80's and early 90's. Guns & Roses, Poison, AIC, Metallica, Queensrÿche, Megadeth, Anthrax, AC/DC, Quiet Riot, and (my all-time favorite) Mötley Crüe. Since the intervention of Bob Rock into the Metallica family and the whole whining about Napster from Lars Ulrich, they have since dropped off the favorites list (hey, if you don't want fans to steal your music, put out an album they wouldn't want to steal, like St Anger). I never stole music from them from Napster and I don't condone stealing music or anything else, but come on. People have been swapping music since the invention of the record button on a cape cassette player. Napster just made it easier to get it faster.
Before I continue, I would like to ask you not to try to defend your views about bands I like that you don't and bands you like that I diss on....I simply do not give a crap who you like or who you don't. Start your own blog about them if that's what you fancy.
I like playing a lot of AC/DC. For a beginning guitarist, they are fun to play and many of their songs are pretty easy if you know some very simple chords. Like I said before I do not solo, but if I were to fashion my playing after anyone, it would be Slash or CC Deville. I know, a lot of people slam Poison, but you have to admit, CC Deville doesn't miss a solo very often.
I would like to learn blues playing before anything else because I feel all modern music has derived from blues.
My current guitars are my first guitar, an acoustic Yamaha EF100 Folk, an Epiphone Les Paul and a Squire Stratocaster with a Floyd Rose tremolo system. I have had a Charvel dinky style, a cheapo Kramer, a bass, and an ESP. I had the ESP for less than 6 months because I couldn't transport it from one FOB to another. I didn't have enough room. I play the LP more than anything else. It just feels right to me.
Hi. Congratulations on the blog spot! I will be following.
