Intermediate Guitarist 1

I am an intermediate guitarist with a lot to learn and a lot of bad habits.  I have the bad habits because I was never formally trained.  This last Christmas, I was given a months worth guitar lessons and while taking the lessons, I realized that I knew nothing I should know for playing for almost 20 years.  I don't know how to solo because I was never taught scales.  I have 1 strumming pattern because I was never taught.  I am getting serious about playing since I took those lessons.  Getting to the basics is where I am at right now.  I know a lot of chords, but picking patterns, proper picking techniques, scales and strumming patterns have eluded me.  I am new at blogging.  I only started this blog to try to figured out how to help my wife in setting up her blog space.  I will be learning this as I go.
